Xbox Game Pass May 2023 new games: Release dates for FIFA, Chicory and more

Microsoft has announced the next batch of Xbox Game Pass titles for May 2023. The headline new game is FIFA 23, which is the final EA Sports football release to feature the FIFA branding. Even better news is FIFA 23 is available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers from today (May 16). More games will be available in a couple of days, as Eastern Exorcist and Ghostlore join Xbox Game Pass on May 18.

Ghostlore, on the other hand, is described as an “Eastpunk” action RPG inspired by the likes of Diablo and Titan Quest.

“Ghostlore is an ‘Eastpunk’ Action-RPG where you fight monsters from Southeast-Asian folklore,” reads the official description.

“Inspired by timeless classic ARPG’s such as Diablo 2 and Titan Quest, Ghostlore offers a detailed item and character customization system, procedurally generated maps, and an authentically retro 90’s aesthetic.”

Cinematic adventure game Planet of Lana is coming to Xbox Game Pass on May 23, followed by the trilogy of Cassette Beasts, Massive Chalice, and Railway Empire 2 on May 25.

Cassette Beasts is a colourful new RPG in which players collect monsters: “Bring your cassette player and get ready to press play!

“Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles as you adventure into the open-world RPG, Cassette Beasts. Get ready to experience an incredible retro vibe with unique innovations to the genre.”

The month ends with the release of the excellent Chicory: A Colourful Tale on May 30.

“Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a top-down adventure game in a coloring book world where you can draw on anything. Use your painting powers to explore new places, solve puzzles, help your friends, and change the world!”
